August 15th from 4:00pm - 6:00pm we have an opportunity to go to the dry pack cannery to do some personal food storage. We only have 2 other times this year to go to the cannery, so if there is something you are wanting to can, this would be a great time! Contact Kathie Bigelow if you have any questions.

August 24-25 will be the Ward Campout at our usual location: Hobble Creek Campground. There will be more information to follow as the event gets closer.

Sept 15 - We will have our 2nd Relief Society University! This was an extremely fun and informative event last year, and this year will be just as fabulous! There will also be more details to follow as the event gets closer.

We hope you are all enjoying your summer and are getting to spend some time with your family. We are grateful to each of you in the ward for your service!

Stake Day of Service - May 19th 2012

The Stake Day of Service is planned for Saturday May 19th, in conjunction with West Jordan’s “I Love West Jordan” day of Community Service.

If you are interested in spending some time doing a service project the City has asked that all volunteers arrive at 8 a.m. at the pavilion in Veterans Memorial Park, 1985 West 7800 South (just west of City Hall). Bring your gloves, a rake or shovel, and a willing heart. Register early and you’ll receive a T-shirt and breakfast courtesy of Dannon, Dunford Bakers and Bubba’s Bagels.

Please mark your calendar and spread the word. Everybody is welcome to participate! To register please email julieb@wjordan.com or call Julie Brown at 801-569-5119.

There is also a Stake Barbeque planned for the same day – May 19th at 1:00pm at the “North” building. The address for that building is 1465 West Bristol Ridge Road (8420 S.) This BBQ is for everyone – whether you participated in the day of service or not. The Stake would just like everyone to get together and have a great time.

Please plan to attend these events if your schedule allows for it – you will be blessed for serving, will have a great time and will get to know some of your neighbors and friends even better!

The Relief Society activity for January will be focusing on Scripture Study.
We will be making a fun Washer Necklace so that we can carry our favorite scripture reference with us! Please plan to join us! The activity will begin at 7:00pm in the Relief Society room.

If you can get your scripture reference to Kale on Sunday - that would be helpful in getting this project partially done before Thursday night! Thank you!!!
